Here are some highlights of our concept plan:
Emphasis on integrating culturally safe, team-based primary care.
Reduction of wait times between lab testing and treatment.
Utilization of cutting-edge technology to enhance service accessibility.
Implementation of a climate-resilient approach to construction.
During our engagement sessions, we’ll delve deeper into these topics and invite your input and questions.
This concept plan was developed based on extensive engagement in 2023, consideration of new and evolving health technology solutions, as well as a review of data about how people have been accessing services in Lytton over the past several years.
The outcomes of our upcoming engagement will help shape the finalization of our health services plan and guide next steps on the construction of a permanent health centre in Lytton. In the meantime, residents can continue to access health services at the Lytton Primary Care Health Clinic at 1540 Silo Road on Lytton First Nation Lands. Our clinic offers a range of services supported by dedicated professionals, including physicians who sees patients both in person and virtually, two registered nurses and an Indigenous Patient Navigator (IPNs) for more information on IPNs please visit this link ( Indigenous Patient Navigator | Service Listing | IH (interiorhealth.ca) ). Additionally, we provide home health and support, mental health and substance use services, and public health initiatives within the community.
We extend our gratitude to the Lytton First Nation for their partnership, as Interior Health leases space for the interim period while plans for the permanent health center progresses. Together, we are committed to delivering essential healthcare services to the area, fostering health and well-being for all.

about 1 year agoInterior Health delivers a variety of services in Lytton, and we are in the midst of re-establishing these services after a 2021 wildfire destroyed the St. Bartholomew's Health Centre. We're committed to learning what is important to residents who live within the Lytton health service area. Share your ideas or experiences related to the health services IH delivers.
HHSSClarissaabout 1 year agoOpen emergency rooms
We noticed the shortage of Dr's within surrounding communities, which leads to E.R's closing. Is there a way there can be a live feed for what E.R's are open and estimated time waits? I know the Lower Mainland has an app for this! Thank you!

I believe it is incredibly vital that the community have a Health Centre dedicated for primary and emergency care. Utilizing both physicians and NPs in this setting. Offering the opportunity for both professions to provide care for the community. With the increase risk of land erosion and the location in which Lytton is, the risk of being cut off from major health resources is incredibly high. One of several reasons why the community needs both primary and emergency care to continue.

One potential solution to the issue of not having enough doctors could be to increase the number of nurse practitioner positions in the community. Nurse practitioners are trained to provide a wide range of healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and providing preventative care. They can work independently or in collaboration with physicians, and can help to fill the gap in healthcare services when there is a shortage of doctors. Other potential solutions could include increasing funding for healthcare services in the community, providing incentives for doctors and other healthcare professionals to work in the area, and investing in telehealth and other technologies that can help to improve access to healthcare services.

Move strengthen collaborative and shared approaches to home primary and mental health services. With FNHA and local Bands. Seems to be health folks milling around in their boxes, but not working in partnership with one another
